GATE O'MORN
In early morning
Bird song,
I went out
In early morning
Bird song,
I went out
In the dew,
And spied a Lady
Standing,
She was dressed
All in blue.
Behind a white-washed
Fence,
Her hand upon
A latch,
The sun behind
Her rising,
Her warmth
He could not match.
The latch, she
Lifted gently,
Though rusted
And all worn,
Then opened fence,
With sun-rays dense...
Shined Mary,
Gate O'Morn!!
And spied a Lady
Standing,
She was dressed
All in blue.
Behind a white-washed
Fence,
Her hand upon
A latch,
The sun behind
Her rising,
Her warmth
He could not match.
The latch, she
Lifted gently,
Though rusted
And all worn,
Then opened fence,
With sun-rays dense...
Shined Mary,
Gate O'Morn!!
