ROSE
If you received
A Christmas gift,
And only kept
The wrappings,
The giver might
Become quite miffed,
That you just liked
The trappings.
For though the wrapping
Paper’s pretty,
Sparkles, glitters
And glows,
It’s what’s inside,
The nitty-gritty,
Truth’s pink
Gaudete rose.
