Priests' hands

YOUR HAND
I'D KISS

Your hand, I'd kiss
But not for this,
The mundane games
Men play.

Your hand, I'd kiss
For doing this,
Absolve my sins
Away.

Your hand, I'd kiss
But not for this,
That any man
Can do.

Your hand, I'd kiss,
For doing this
God's strong, His choice,
The few.

Your hand, I'd kiss
But not for this,
Like any
Virile male.

Your hand, I'd kiss
For doing this,
Place Him between
Lips, pale.

Your hand, I'd kiss
But not for this,
Your strength
Exudes each pore.

Your hand, I'd kiss
For doing this,
Your prayers,
I do implore.

a sucker born every minute

Swiss architects Stemmle Architekten have completed the reconstruction of the Catholic Church in Geroldswil near Zürich.

AT
THE
FAIR

At the fair
I'm antiquated
Morning Matins
I am berated.
At the fair
I am a loss
During Lauds
I have a cross.
At the fair
I am no winner
Time for Prime
I'm called a sinner.
At the fair
I am reviled
Sext at six
I'm reconciled.
At the fair
My riches crumble
Dessert at None
Is pie that's humble.
At the fair
The years I've wasted
Vespers start
His goodness tasted.
At the fair
Our poverty sates
Compline chimes
Eternity waits.
At the fair
Harsh lights give glare
But candled Hours

Glow forever as prayer

the ANNUNCIATION

“TO
MEN
OF
GOOD
WILL”

There can be no peace,
If not of good will.
There can be no race
For those who stand still.

Only she
Full of grace
Could share in the miracle
Without disgrace

To magnify
Her soul prepared
By God, her spirit -
Never ensnared.

“Blessed art thou…”
Gabriel hailed,
And at that moment
The enemy railed,

For he remembered,
The garden free,
‘Tween him and the woman
Enmity.

But who the woman?
God did not tell,
Then Gabriel’s “Ave”
Shook the depths of Hell.

And Satan screamed
Turned on a wing
To offer some peace
And will good to a King.

“Yes, some peace.” Herod said,
“And good will…
I’ve a right to my reign,
If some Innocents I kill!”

2009 American Catholics

You do get bailout money, however, if you can use it to spread contraceptives and reduce the production of new viable tissue masses. And, that courtesy of Roman Catholic Nancy Pelosi. Does the Catholic church have any guts at all? Why are Pelosi and our pro-abortion Catholic VP still allowed to call themselves Catholic? Take Communion?
STEP-CHILD

You are in
I am out,
Eternal truths
You choose to doubt.

I am out
Your are in,
You believe
There is no sin.

I confess
You will never
In like Flynn
No need endeavor.

I say, "Father"
You say, "Mother...
He's a goddess
Like no other!"

Bits of Latin
You've alotted
And chapels for
The Hindu dotted.

I need schools
For childrens' souls,
You won't part
With money rolls.

You pay priest
Indulgenced tithes
Not to speak
Of birthing writhes.

Of course you know
How wrong's abortion?
Though pills rot fruit
For your absorption.

But I am last
And you are first
Our new stepmother's
Child most cursed!

Rich men

TRADIDI
QUOD
ET
ACCEPI

"Come...
Bring your
Things and
Follow me."

Said the
Rich man
To the
Rich.

So many
Brought
Their
Golden rings

For they
Trust a
Rich man's
Pitch.

Now rich man
Can be
Nice
Of course

But money
In the
Middle
Conceived...

Pales 'fore the priest
Birthed on
Thursday's great
Feast

And can
Pass on
What he's
Received.

Rosemary

MEMENTO ME
Rose petals pink.
But roses do wither.
Words stay alive.
Words do not dither.

Words for remembrance
Wherever one goes.
That’s why there’s rosemary,
Soon dies the rose.

Words sing of love.
Words can bring hate.
Words can forever
On your soul, stamp a date.

But I will admit,
One thing words can’t do…
Seduce with a scent
My memories of you.

Fourth Sunday - LAETARE

LAETARE
LAUGHTER

He came He died,
He rose...
And Lent
Makes flesh our foes.

But on Laetare Day
We sing
We laugh
We pray.

Ignatius was not wrong.
He said,
"All laugh...
Grow strong!"

So on Laetare Day
For God
We give
Our play

And you
To laugh along,
Our senses
Light with song.

Then senses
Lost in Lent
Will crave
The Lily scent!

First Sunday of Lent

SILVER
SAINTS

Lavender night,
Shadows on white,

Moon way up there,
Beautiful bare...

Silver trees slick...
Straight in the thick,

Snow drifts deep cold,
Below roots take hold,

And when the tree hearkens
That lavender darkens

In Spring's purple torment
The roots remain dormant,

As silver trees bend,
While the wet winds descend

Silver roots in truth old
Breed the trees bearing gold.
