Christ's Courts at LaSalette

the
COURT

Soldier-straight trees
Glistened sloe-black
Snow-sentries stark
On guard for attack.

As midwestern’s west
Came for the clash
To midwestern’s east
On court would west dash?

The cassock made all
Kneel and be humbled.
The game whistle blew
And they fouled and they fumbled.

They dribbled and traveled
Bore skin-burns from falls
Made free-throws and slam-dunks
And bad judgment calls.

Though LaSalette lions
A new Notre Dame
Heard roars from the crowd
They kept their pride tame.

For outside the court
The iced trees sloe-black
Lined the walk from the Church
To our Lady’s white back.

Where helplessly once
Watched sons of her Son
Each take a stab
In her white back and run.

So the new lions know
The yoke they must carry
While relishing in
Their win o’er St. Mary

Is the yolk upon both
And good-willed on courts
To obtain the gold medal
In the spiritual sports

Where walks lined by trees
From the Church iced sloe-black
Hear sons of her Son cheer…
“Tradition is back!”

The MASS

RED
Vestments of red
Altar cloth too
Martyrs who bled
Did this for you.
Gold Tabernacles
Veiled in red's hue
Martyrs in shackles
Hung for this view.
Red mums full bloomed
In water and brass
Martyrs consumed
Burned for this Mass.
Red rays of sun
Rose-streak the nave
Their suf'ring done
Now red we must crave!

St. Mary's Assumption

SNOWY
FLAKE

The rain for pain.
The sun for fun
And falling snow
Slows everyone.

The fluffs of white
Float to the ground.
We look, we feel
But there's no sound.

It falls from Heaven,
So it's blessed twice,
Like rain and sun
An earthly spice

For nature's needs,
It's all created,
And to our souls
It's tightly mated.

For rain can soothe
A sobbing breast.
The sun sheds light
On one depressed.

And snow, so cold,
She takes our breath,
In silence comes
Like old man death

Reminding us
Slow down and make...
Your souls as white
As snowy flake.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help - thank you!

BLUE GLORIES

Blue glories of
The morn,
Trumpeting like a horn,
My porch rail
You adorn,
Blue glories of
The morn.

Blue glories of
The Church,
Glass votives light the search,
Upon a stand
They perch,
Blue glories of
The Church.

Eggs

THE
INCREDIBLE
EDIBLE
CATHOLIC
EGG
Incredible,
Edible,
Catholic egg.
For you
I'd sell
An arm and a leg.
Delighting rich
And simple
Folk.
Hard-boiled
White
Around the yolk.
Sometimes scrambled.
Sometimes
Fried.
Often, next
To bacon's
Side.
Spittering,
Sputtering,
Splashing grease.
But into my life
You bring
Such peace.
For after
Matins' morning
Prayer
I go to the
Fridge
And you are there.
Always
Constant.
Circled friend.
No beginning
No big
End.
Reminding me,
When sick
Or well,
You're always
There
Inside the shell.
Ready to
Nourish.
Ready to feed.
Obeying God,
Your dairy
Creed.
And yes
You're Catholic,
Incredible egg.
For monks say
You're best...
With St. Bernard’s keg!

SSPX - Sancte Pio Decime!!!!!!!!!

THE
BLACK
SAILS

The power of the cassock
Is to lure
Like fishermen
To nets secure.
The power of the cassock
Ebony shine
A hull of hues
On deck Divine.
The power of the cassock
Anchors the man
Dead to the world
In his sea-span.
The power of the cassock
Weighted strength
Before the mast
It's linen length.
The power of the cassock
Sails your soul
To greater depths
From shallow shoal.
The power of the cassock
Captains' pure.
The fishermen,
Our land-locked cure.

Press release of the Superior General of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X

The excommunication of the bishops consecrated by His Grace Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, on June 30, 1988, which had been declared by the Congregation for Bishops in a decree dated July 1, 1988, and which we had always contested, has been withdrawn by another decree mandated by Benedict XVI and issued by the same Congregation on January 21, 2009.
We express our filial gratitude to the Holy Father for this gesture which, beyond the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X, will benefit the whole Church. Our Society wishes to be always more able to help the pope to remedy the unprecedented crisis which presently shakes the Catholic world, and which Pope John Paul II had designated as a state of “silent apostasy.”
Besides our gratitude towards the Holy Father and towards all those who helped him to make this courageous act, we are pleased that the decree of January 21 considers as necessary “talks” with the Holy See, talks which will enable the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X to explain the fundamental doctrinal reasons which it believes to be at the origin of the present difficulties of the Church.
In this new atmosphere, we have the firm hope to obtain soon the recognition of the rights of Catholic Tradition

Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre

MERCI MARCEL
Friday, January 23, 2009
h/t to RORATE COELI
Removal of the excommunications of SSPX Bishops:Updated thread: Confirmations; note to be published tomorrow;Explanatory Note expected in L'Osservatore Romano

RIGHTEOUS
THUNDER
Five times banished
Exiled seventeen
Excommunicated champions
God puts at each scene.
Saint Athanasius
Feast day of worth
On the second of May
The month of great mirth.
Out in the deserts –
As history has charted –
You preserved the true Mass
Great lion-hearted.
Now Lefebvre
And the sixties egalitarians
Like Athanasius
His time his Arians.
For He who abolished
Death by death
Sent him to absolve
Sin width and breadth.
And yes the same moon
The same sun we're all under…
We venal rain - but Lefebvre
Righteous thunder!!

Winter's forests

THE
FOREST

Pitch-black limbs,
A winter’s nigh’,
Cobalt gray
Ceilinged-sky.

Waiting, stiff,
To receive
Blanket white,
A winter’s weave

Of falling
Flakes,
Upon each
Limb,

Their stark
Pitch-black
Begins
To dim.

For black
Goes soft,
With white
On bark.

To show
How light
Can pierce
The dark.

For light
On frozen,
Warms
The chill

In black,
Stiff-souls
Of obstinate
Will.

Then ceilinged
Sky’s,
Eternal-
East,

Will boast
The sun,
And its
Increase…

Upon each
Limb,
Now transformed
White,

Hoping
Spring,
Is soon
In sight.

Where once,
Black-limbs,
Were stiff
And frozen…

Bend in
Wind…
The forest-
Chosen.
