CAMPIN' IN CHICAGO by Hilary McRee Flanery (based on my own family life)

CAMPIN\
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy birthin' and I will give you..." "Yours, mine and..." Who cares! From the heartland of America meet the "Fighting-Flanigans", that's Flanigan with one "n" in the first syllable because someone dropped the other "n" in the ocean on the way over from the Sod! 2nd in NATION at Rugby Nationals 2008!

COME RUCK
COME RACK

In the Appalachian foothills
Above the Pittsburgh coal mines black,
Near the river Allegheny
Roared the lions, “LaSalette is back!”

On the 31st of May
Their roars not meant to scare or harry,
Their roars were prayers in honor of --
The Queenship of the Virgin Mary.

The “Clash of the Titans”
No more rehearsal --
Mexican, Irish,
Asian, universal.

Flesh against bone
They rucked and they hooked
Both Catholic schools
No fear would be brooked.

And to the end
They ran the good race
Jesuits, first –
LaSalette, second place.

In the Appalachian foothills
Above the Pittsburgh coal mines black,
Near the river Allegheny
A Catholic endures…come ruck, come rack!

Viva LaSalette! Next year they'll be top, I'm sure! Twelfth to second... to... Our Lady helping, First!

Yes, good luck to LaSalette. Those SSPX folks sure must have put together a good team.

Congratulations to you and your boys. (I forgot to offer it in my email last week.)

It's just the school, Crusader... about fifty boys, and all of them play. Easy to underestimate -- not easy to beat.
