DIAMONDSOh, you on earth,
When push comes to shove,
You care for the sick,
You do it in love.
When souls are in need,
You're at their bed side
Soothing their flesh
'Till priest can grace-guide.
For our bodies are merely
Like festering sores,
Eventually crusting
And scabbing the pores.
But you who on earth,
Their wounds you keep clean,
To receive antiseptic
Graces unseen.
In Extreme Unction,
Where priest help restore,
A beautiful soul
Gleaming pure through each pore.
Like a diamond hidden
Below crusty earth...
The priest excavates
Diamond souls of great worth.
