CAMPIN' IN CHICAGO by Hilary McRee Flanery (based on my own family life)

CAMPIN\
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy birthin' and I will give you..." "Yours, mine and..." Who cares! From the heartland of America meet the "Fighting-Flanigans", that's Flanigan with one "n" in the first syllable because someone dropped the other "n" in the ocean on the way over from the Sod! TERMITES!!

ALL
GOD'S CREATURES
My house,
It has some termites.
My house
It is their feast.
My house,
God gave
Them termites,
He really likes them beast!
But just like me,
Them termites,
Were made byGod,
Creator.
And, God, His
Greatest work?
The termite
Exterminator!

We've been battling termites all summer (and really since last summer). Just LOVED this poem, and hope you don't mind that I used it for my Poetry Friday submission today (here if you're interested). Glad you submitted this to the Catholic Carnival or I would have never had this early morning laugh with my coffee...and over such an unlikely topic! :)

Thanks. There's a whole story behind it...I'm fond of alliteration in general...
