Forever fields...

PERPETUAL PRIME

I feel someone stole
The end of last year,
The end of a decade
Where faith replaced fear.

Where peace replaced war,
Where joy replaced tears,
Where lamb lay with lion
Prophesied by the seers.

Where far was now close
And cold was now warm,
Sheep with their shepherd,
No one would dare harm.

But shepherds have other
Flocks they must tend,
When in need they must go
To feed and defend.

Now standing alone
All sheared and all shorn,
I shiver exposed,
To the mist of the morn.

But shepherds they come
And lions they go
But with every decade
The sheep’s wool will grow

And thicken before,
The wolves where they stand
Who want to devour
All sheep of the land.

But she’s not afraid
Her shepherd prepared
Her for the fight
She’s never despaired.

For over the hills
She knows there’s a place
Her shepherd spoke of,
For the end of her race.

Where forever in fields
Of bliss, no more time,
And years can’t be stolen…
In perpetual prime.
