ST. JOSEPH'S
OF THE
FIELD
Up in Michigan
On the farm fields
St. Joseph's Academy
Proudly wields
A crop of souls
Harvested yearly
Farmed by men
But not men merely.
Young stalks of souls
Watered by grace
Rooted in prayer
Will soon take their place
In other fields
Converting the land
Where desolate pastures
Once were priest-manned.
For daily they'll be
At the rise of the Son
Tilling the fields
For souls to be won.
Souls who have withered
From lack of graced-water
Souls who are innocent
Lambs to the slaughter.
For the seeds of St. Joseph's
Trent-fertilized
By priest at the Mass
Are hated despised.
But not merely men
These farmers of souls
St. Pius the Tenth
They're priests with firm goals
To teach and to preach
Give Sacraments of God
Grow great Catholic crops
In His great Catholic sod
And not only north
But south, west and east,
You will see the young souls
Growing strong at the Feast.
Just like St. Joseph's
On Michigan's field...
Crops of Tradition,
Great harvests they'll yield!
