THE
PLAYWRIGHT
On a wooden stage
I planted
A tiny seed.
Lifted a plank
The seed it sank
Everyday I watered with heed.
But I’d forgotten
That wood gets rotten
Though stage lights turned on for its need.
Then I realized with mirth
Perhaps that’s why there’s earth…
That the Playwright scripted, indeed!
